During chemo, it is absolutely sure that you lose all your hair ???

Not necessarily. If your glutathione is high, hair loss is minimal and nausea is minimal. There have been several recent studies preformed that directly correlate the level of glutathione in your system to the severity of side effects from chemotherapy or radiation treatment. I have a 78 year old friend that went through 4 cycles of chemo with very little hair loss, no nausea and only a small loss in strength. He raised glutathione by taking Immunocal.

Immunocal in listed in the US Physician's Desk Reference (PDR). It has a method of use patent # 5,888,552 dated 3-30-1999 that reads Anti-Cancer Therapeutic Compositions Containing Whey Protein Concentrate. This product has been shown to help prevent nausea, hair loss and loss of energy when going through chemotherapy or radiation.

Stay strong, God bless

No, but most people do at least lose enough to have it look better if you just shave your head. You can also lose eyelashes, eyebrows and nasal hair.

During chemo, it is absolutely sure that you lose all your hair ???

Had a friend on chemo. Lost his hair but happened to mention that not all people end up losing all of it or even some of it. Besides... God works it all out in the end. Hope you heal soon.

Yes, more than likely. Chemo drugs are so strong, they have to be to kill the bad cells of the cancer, that they end up killing some of the good cells along with it, hence the hair loss, which is why it is SO important to stay away from those who are sick or have colds. When you white blood cell count is down it is easier to get sick. Chemo kills a lot of various types of cells, the good and the bad. The hair loss is probably the least of a chemo patient's worries. As long as it kills the cancer, who cares - hair can grow back! It also depends on how long the patient has been undergoing treatment and the potentcy of the regimen.

No, everyone is different and different meds have different side effects. One thing I would recommend to someone who is expecting hair loss due to chemo is too clip off all of your hair beforehand, it is easier to deal with the sudden loss of hair than to just watch it just fall out over a few weeks.

If you are going for chemo and they tell you to expect hair loss just remember that bald is sexy, even for women and to treat your baldness as a badge of honor, it shows just how tough you are.

During chemo, it is absolutely sure that you lose all your hair ???

No but most people are loosing it so heavily that they end up just shaving it off. If you have it..Try a wig..Its not bad..Hey Hanna Montana has one. lol...

During chemo, it is absolutely sure that you lose all your hair ???

No it is not. It depends on what type of cancer you have, and which chemo treatment you are having. Even within that, each individual can have varying degrees of side effects, so even if you are told you may lose your hair, you might not. Listen to your Doctors and nurses They will give you the most up to date and correct information. Try not to listen to conflicting and negative things around you. Remember, your treatment is specific to your needs. I know it will all seem very overwhelming right now, but if this is you, I wish you luck for a good recovery. :)

The reason chemotherapy drugs may cause hair loss is that they are designed to kill fast-growing cells, such as cancer cellsm or hair cells or the cells that line your mouth and other openings and internal voids or organic surfaces (epethelial cells). The drug is dumb; it can't distinguish between one type of fast-growing cell and another, so it kills all of them.

Stop thinking about hair and start thinking about taking every possible precaution against bacterial infection. That's your main enemy: it will kill a person much faster than any cancer ever could. Be a tyrannt about absolute cleanliness and make chlorine bleach your best friend. Food must be free of all contamination.

May God help you through this.
