He is about....3 years old and i just noticed that he has lost alot of his hair on his stomach.

any ideas?!

you might want to take him to a vet. He might be stressed and over grooming, he might have a food allergy/sensitivity that is causing him to over groom, or he might have a flea allergy that causes him to... well you get the point.

You can watch him for a few days and see how it progresses.. watch to see if he's grooming the area a lot. however one thing that is of major concern is if he has an issue with his bladder. Make sure he's able to go pee. If he can't, it might be uncomfortable for him and he's grooming that area to try to comfort himself. If he is not eating/drinking and or he's in and out of the litter box with out producing much urine, then you really need to get him in to the vet right quick!

Its molting, all animals with hair molt, it's natural. Don't worry about it, your cat will be fine.

I just had my cat to the vets last week for the same problem.She was constantly licking herself which irriated the skin even more. the out come at the vets was " she is allergic to flea bites" with some meds an Advantage she is doing better already, an the hair is starting to come back.
