Your hormones have altered. They may return to pre-baby levels, and they may not. It usually takes about two years for most pregnancy allopatia to dissipate.
If you would like to get your hair back on track, there are several herbs and supplements you can take. Aqueous extract of horsetail is a very old remedy. Cheaper still, is horsetail tea. Don't try to ingest it any other way. It has microfibres that are indigestable. Eat alot of kelp, or take it in tabs. Try other forms of silica, Keratin, Biotin, B complex, Essential fatty acids (not in Evening Primrose form, for the estrogen problem), eat lecithin or take in caps. Iron of course is not related to hair growth in any major way.
When you are ready to stop breastfeeding, then you can even fix the hormones. There are oodles to try. Wild Yam, Saw Palmetto, Dong Quoi, Vitex, Squaw Vine...
Your problem is not uncommon, and I urge you to take action if you find it distressing. You don't need more on your plate when you're a new mom...

Yes, both for if you are the mother or the father. Moms lose hair because of messed up hormones. Dads lose hair because of stinky diapers, cranky babies and lack of sleep.

Yes, it's normal. It's a postpartum form of alopecia. If it continues for a year, or if you become uncomfortable with the hair loss, consult a physician. They can put you on some prescription vitamins to help. Good luck!
