I want my original dark brown hair color back. Its orange!?

When I took a prescription a couple yrs ago, I lost a lot of hair. People told me if I colored my hair which is normally med/dark brown, fine, %26amp; oily in no time -to something lighter, it wouldnt be so noticable. I did color with a permanent color to a light brown/dark blonde which gave me a light brown that appeared kinda orangey. Since it helped with the problem I was ok with it. Now my hair has grown back in, and I want my real hair color back. Now, each time I color it with med brown about every 6 weeks, It looks beautiful for about 2 weeks then goes back to that orange color. I hate it. What is the best way to start the process of getting my hair back to normal. If I keep coloring it, arent I just continuing to over process my fine hair making this a never ending process? I am in my mid 30's and had never ever colored my hair my entire life, so this was big for me. Any info would be great, Im pretty much clueless when it comes to hair color. Thanks so much for helping

See a professional that specializes in color correction. Doing it yourself has obv iously not worked, and you might spend some money, but imagine how much you've spent over the months trying to get your hair back. It will be done right and look great.

Always go to a professional. There may be a simple solution to your problem. I used to dye my own hair and after a while it was nearly plum colored and would not fade! It was patchy and definitely did not look "done". Now, when I go to my hairdresser I always leave feeling beautiful...and no one would be able to tell I wasn't a gorgeous copper-ish redhead naturally. It's worth it, let me tell you! Good luck! I wish you the best. I know how a woman and her hair are!

another way to go about it without having to make a stop by the salon is to go to a beauty supply and get a good hair dye. Da Vinci is really great haircolor and if you can get your hands on it.. schwarzkopf (spellcheck?)

also buy a color sealer and shampoo/cond. that is color safe (sulfate free) this will make your color last longer.
