I just combed out my dreads and now my hair is super-thin...?

..I just was wondering if anyone knows how long it will take to thicken up? I have seen some people on here say "It never will" but I don't see how pulling out some hair would make it never grow back. I mean when you rip out a particularly nasty knot and lose some hair it grows back so why shouldn't the hair I lost from combing out dreads? If anyone has gone through this please reply, Thanks :)

Actually, it can never grow back, it depends on how it was ripped out. If the whole cuticle came with it, it's not growing back. Did you notice a bud at the end of the hairs that came out? That's a cuticle. If it just snapped somehwhere, even really cose to the top of the head, it'll grown back, but it's going to take some time. In general, if you want to get rid of dreads, cut them off, don't rip them out.

The hair that is there and thin won't miraculously get thicker, but in time it will grow back normal.

im assuming either 2 or 3 months..my hairdresser thined out my hair for summer and its just getting thicker now and its been...a month. but my hair is naturally very thick. good luck!

i have never had dreads but a lot of people that I know do have them and it takes a lot of time it takes months probably longer depending on type of hair.
