he has little to no hair left but the cradle cap is very noticable and i dont want to harm him while trying to scrub it out with my hands and i cant comb his scalp so what should i do please help

we used vaseline and a fine tooth comb on our son. it really works. just massage the vaseline in, and gently comb through. then, wash his hair. it may make his scalp a little greasy, but that goes away and it works.

This isn't a cure, however, and the crusts generally keep building back up again for the whole first year of life. You can get rid of cradle cap once and for all using dandruff shampoo (either a selenium or a tar based shampoo is fine) twice a week for several weeks. You can decrease the frequency as the condition improves. You may need to use it once a month or so to keep the "dandruff" away.

You can use mineral oil thats what my daughters doctor told me to use and it worked very well

Oh my son was bald after losing his hair to what i thought was cradle cap and it wasnt .It was ezema. so be for sure.If its really cradle cap you could use a baby washcloth.Dont worry about your babys looks right now.You say you cant comb his scalp thats why I think it could be ezema and you could try the mineral oil just dont use too much. My baby looked awful but he grew out of it.be very gentle.Be sure to talk to his doctor about it.
